The isolation cells in the emergency department are very well built . When they were built the construction company were very careful. Nobody new they were being built. They have wallpaper covering the walls that breaks breaks the monotony of the bare comcrete. Unfortunately.there is a pattern on it. I was not psychotic but I could imagine scary woods which could contain fierce wolves or ghosts. They had a high definition camera with which they could watch me peeing. I have just now ( 1 am 77 yrs old.) learnt how an uncircumsised male should pee. My mother was very much a prude and would never touch my penis. (I wonder what my fathers sex life was like). I have always had smegma. I considered it normal. I was a virgin until I was 23. When I had an active sex life the smegma disappeared. Which, again, I thought was a natural process. I could go on about what I found out from google - I did not know there was a medical condition called balatine. All i was trying to say is urinating is a very private activtity. That is one of the reasons there are separate washrooms for men and women. When I worked in the bush by myself.I always rchecked over my shoulder to see if anyone was watching. I always dribble when I pee. When I eventually went up to "Fourth Floor", which deserves at least a 4 , if not a full 5, star rating they provided me with a rubber matress cover which they removed when they found out i was not incontinent. When i used google to find out if they had cameras in their isolation cells I found they prohibit their use for mentally ill inmates.

    • The nurses and doctors here are amazing. It really didn't matter how busy it got (and it got really busy) they remained attentive, kind and reassuring.
